On a freezing cold November evening, the great and the good of the celebrity and business world descended on the Old Truman Brewery in Brick Lane for a night out under paper and cardboard, as they came together to raise money for Centrepoint and the homeless by sleeping rough for the night.
SW19 were brought in by the Centrepoint Events team to sort out the production package including staging, lighting, projection and audio for the Truman Brewery site.
Charles Ellery carried out a site visit and came up with a production package to suit the venue and bands performing there.
Bands included White Room along with Rival State, Maverick Sabre and Sara Cox DJ’ing till bedtime when the celebs, including Dermot O’Leary, Richard Madeley, Lisa Maxwell and Allen Leach, pottered off to Sleep Out in a large marquee, with just a single sheet of cardboard for a mattress and a paper bag for a sleeping bag.
Alex Sayles, manager for Rival State, commented afterwards, ‘I just wanted to congratulate everyone on an amazing and very special night. Thank you for allowing us to take part and for taking exceptionally good care of our boys – they had a blast and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. I hope each and every sleep out were great big successes for you. Keep up the amazing work and hopefully see you all again in the near future.
